Are you prepared for what you asked God for?

Updated: Feb 19, 2022

Some time ago I had a layered discussion with the Holy Spirit. Well, it was more like I was speaking and the Holy Spirit jabbed me with a response that left me speechless. I am currently in a place of waiting on God for a number of things, and I remember whispering, Lord, why does everything with You take so long? I know, a very human moment; not the most spiritual or the most patient, definitely just a human moment. As I whispered in my spirit, I ran across a video on Youtube titled, Are you Prepared? This title jolted me as I felt the Holy Spirit impressed on my spirit, if I were to give you what you asked for, are you prepared for it? Normally, I could answer, of course! But I felt the seriousness of the questions, and the seriousness of what I am asking the Lord to do in this season; and though I didn't say it out loud, the truthful answer to the question was NO.

For such a long time, I prayed, fasted and cried out to God for the very thing I was not prepared for. When the Lord told Noah to build an ark, it was preparation for what was to come. Noah spent 120 years preparing for Rain. What is the Lord impressing on your spirit to do as preparation? It can be as practical as eating healthier so you can have a long, healthy life to do what God called you to do. It can also be as practical as exercising a few times per week to gain strength and endurance physically, or enroll in classes to grow your knowledge surrounding a topic the Lord is leading you in or it can be internal preparation for a kingdom marriage or raising kingdom children. I will leave this with you, sit quietly before the Lord, empty yourself, then ask the Holy Spirit, "Am I prepared?", then linger and wait for His response. He will tell you exactly what you need.

Hebrews 11:7 (ESV)

By faith Noah, being warned by God concerning events as yet unseen, in reverent fear constructed an ark for the saving of his household. By this he condemned the world and became an heir of the righteousness that comes by faith.

I love this blog! I too sometimes have issues with waiting on God. I'm learning to wait with a good attitude and in the right spirit. I want everything He already has assigned to my life.
