You are not Buried Alive! You are Giving Birth!

Updated: Mar 10, 2022

Think About It

Have you ever been in a season where you need a move of the Father? This is a place where there is nothing left for you to do, as a matter of fact, you have done all there is to do and now, everything is in His court. You see no movement, though you are desperate for a move. You hear no sound, though you are desperate to hear something, anything! Or, are you at the point where you are saying, "a word won't do", you need a mighty move of the Father, NOW. You feel trapped, you want to move but can't, you are screaming in the middle of the street but no one can hear you scream, simply put, you feel buried alive! You are not alone! I am in this very place now, just like you. Though I'm not yet on the other side, I am moved to write snippets of thought and revelation as I am navigating this transitional phase of my life. Religious people will say to you, "deepen your faith", but I am here to tell you, not everyone will understand this kind of journey.

To My Friends in Process........

I believe the Lord placed a word here just for you. If you are in a transitional season, a waiting season or in a place where you need something to happen but you see nothing, I am here to give you some good news and some great news. Firstly the good news, you are exactly where God wants you to be. I know, I know, you're saying, "Is that good news?", but, please keep reading. You are in a place where you think to yourself, I am weary, my faith is waning, I am beyond hope and it seems God is silent. Deep down, in the core of your soul, you wonder, can God really do what He said He will do? Can He do what I need Him to do? I'm sure you also say, "of course He can"! I'm also positively sure you say it with your mouth but do you really believe it in your heart? Or, do you believe that God can do it, but not sure if He will do it for you? You have even dwindled your expectation so God can do the basic so you can count it as a miracle. My friend, if you could only understand how God's strength is made perfect in these very weaknesses. And the fact you are still deep down hoping He will come through, I'm here to tell you, you have more faith than you realize, you my friend, are carrying this burden because He trusts you to, and that's the greatest news. The God of creation trusts you. You may say Kesha-Gay, how do you know He trusts me? My answer is simple, despite being weary from battle, despite the warfare, despite emotional distress, despite physical ailment, despite the tears, despite, despite, despite; deep down, your hope is in God to deliver you and answer you. My friends that is what He wants, he says in Matthew 11:28-30 (NIV)“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Have you ever gone into the presence of God, not to say anything, but to just let it all out? Have you ever noticed when you leave; your countenance shifts? Did you notice, the situation may not have changed, but you were refreshed? This my friends is intimacy with the Father, He wants to be the One to soothe your weary souls. He wants you to come to Him, not to ice cream, alcohol, shopping or even friends, He wants you to come to Him, with your raw, unfiltered emotions. Trust me, He can more than handle it. All the Father wants, is more of you! Always remember, the strength of a relationship can only be determined by testing. A good or great relationship is not tested when things are good, it is tested when things are not so good. How do you measure one's fortitude? How do you know when someone loves you? How do you find the evidence of love? It is in the sacrifice! The Father sacrificed his only Son, to remove the veil so we can enter the holy of holies, so we could receive the gift of the Holy Spirit, so that we can grow in intimacy and cry out to Him in authenticity like Hannah! Hannah went to the Father so raw that the human eyes of Eli thought she was drunk. That is what HE wants, your unfiltered, raw emotions. What then is your sacrifice to the Father? Where is the evidence to show you love Him? I'll leave you to ponder that.

While We Wait, Remember.......

I could tell you countless testimonies from scripture and real life to account the faithfulness of God, but, in the words of the author of Hebrews 11, that would take too long, so I will simply say this, every season that begins, must come to an end. When a woman is pregnant, the weight of what is inside her grows, towards the end of the pregnancy, she grows in discomfort and pressure in several places of her body. Then, as if that wasn't enough, there comes labour! Everyone's labour is different, some babies are a two push wonder, but there are some babies, that requires travailing, this baby requires walking uncomfortably to increase dilation, this baby requires a 24 hour or more labour journey, in some cases, labour has to be induced by a doctor because that baby got too comfortable inside, and everyone knows when the labour is induced, that is a doozy!

This is the same with us in this season, some us are pregnant with a promise or a request to God, some us are in the first trimester, when the onset of the season throws us off like a recently pregnant woman who is experiencing morning sickness, no appetite etc. We are asking ourselves, what is going on? Some of us are in their second trimester, where our mindsets mirrors the woman who understands she is pregnant and getting closer to the end than she was at the beginning, she is managing herself better than she did before, growing in knowledge of what she is carrying, preparing for what she is carrying and growing in strength as she is more aware of what the journey encompasses. Some of us are in the third trimester, the pressure has turned up, spiritual warfare rages, our emotions are about to give out, we just want to unload, we just want to see our baby, we are excited at times, tired at times. Then some of us are in labour, some of us are on our first push, for some of us, the baby is crowning. There are also those of us who should be in labour by now, our baby is past due, but not coming forth, these are the ones in a raging battle for the birth, these are the ones who are in need of some extra help from the Doctor (the Holy Spirit) and nurses (angels) to induce labour so we can birth this promise, or see the desire of our hearts manifest.

I want to highlight this, when a woman is giving birth, the pressure is intense, the pain may be at levels no human should bear too long, BUT, does the mother give up and walk out still pregnant? No, she cannot, she labours until she sees her baby. So friends, the pressure is high, the pain is great, but this baby must come forth, so keep pushing, hold on to the rails, hold on to the hands beside you, but most importantly, trust the "Doctor", while you are pushing, listen to His voice, You will hear Him say, "push" and it indicates to us, keep praying, Luke 11:9 (AMPC) says, So I say to you, Ask and keep on asking and it shall be given you; seek and keep on seeking and you shall find; knock and keep on knocking and the door shall be opened to you. You will also hear the "Doctor" say at a part in the Labour process, "stop pushing", this simply means, Be still. He says in Psalm 46:10 (NIV) He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” To be still at this point, is simply, to trust. Many moms will tell you at this point everything in their body wants to push, they admit stopping takes greater strength because the body's reflex wants to do the opposite, but to ensure there is no damage, they must heed the voice of the doctor. Then, after you have suffered a while, you will see what was hidden all along; your baby in the flesh, the promise made flesh, the desire of your heart manifested in the earth.

I have never given birth to a baby in the flesh, I am not a doctor, I have only watched close friends walk through this uncomfortable but beautiful process. Through my observation, I found that this process mirrors this season I am in and thought to share it with my brothers and sisters in the same process. God is faithful, He will bring this to completion. You are not buried alive, you are pregnant with a promise that you MUST give birth to.
